About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To bring medicine to those in need, to love, to learn to live in a way that increases the world's ability to sustain life.
ABOUT ME
I am a simple woman trying to live a good life. Plants are my friends and my work is to bring plants to people in order to bring harmony to all. I'm in love with a wonderful man, and we like to keep it mellow. I'm happiest when I'm outside by the river, in the mountains, on the trail or in the garden. I like intellectual pursuits and if you want to get down and dirty about physics I'm all for it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I do dishes, I clean up after myself, I help in the garden, I feed and love the animals. I love to cook. Generally if you ask me to do it and I can figure it out, I'll do it.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
While I am new to this website, I've hosted travelers in my home in Arcata many many times, which have always been wonderful experiences. Also, my mother's philosphy was that there was always room at the table for another friend and always room for another sleeping bag in the living room, so sharing space has always been the way for me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I worked for Amigos, I was very much learning about how to inspire community organization, and had many struggles just getting the people I wanted to work with together. However, after one meeting where attendance had shot up from two attendees to fifty, I watched and assisted as the group of mothers told me we didn't have to wait to schedule another date, we were just going to plant this amaranth garden now, and the ground was weeded, dug, and planted within an hour. Beautiful.
Teach, Learn, Share
I teach herbalism at the Humboldt State Center for Appropriate technology, as well as Botany for Herbalists at the Northwest Insititute of Ayurveda and the Northwest School for Botanical Studies, and am always happy to share what I know and learn from those I am with.
