About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To appreciate what I have and what is around me.

ABOUT ME

I am a singer. I study vocal performance at the Oberlin College and Conservatory of Music in Ohio, right outside of Cleveland. Check out my website if you'd like to hear me sing. I grew up in Dallas, Texas. I teach children with autism and other disabilities during the summer and when I am not in school. Working with these kids is one of the most important experiences I've had. I grew up on on a diet of classic rock (thanks to Dad) and classical music (thanks to mom). I pride myself in having an extremely eclectic group of friends of many different cultures. I believe strongly in love, forgiveness, and patience.

PHILOSOPHY

"whatever floats your boat"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My house in Oberlin, OH is open for surfers from August through May.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed in Vienna in the summer of 2011 and I hope to do more!

I also surfed at another CS member's house for a month in January 2010. This was before I was introduced to CS, but I thought I'd go ahead and mention it because my host is currently a CS member.

Music, Movies, and Books

Too many to name, but a few are: East of Eden (Steinbeck), Their Eyes Were Watching God (Hurston), Reading Lolita in Tehran, Thirteenth Tale (Setterfield), The Perks of Being a Wallflower (Chbosky), Where the Red Fern Grows (Rawls), The Monkey Wrench Gang (Abbey)...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Got caught in a nor'easter driving back from Maine (USA) and was stranded in a cheap hotel room with three of my best friends. It was a lot of fun!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can bring an appreciation for all sorts of musics, specifically classical music. I love sharing music, discussing it, and learning about it.

Learning how to speak languages is part of my job. Please teach me how to speak your language correctly!

I want to learn how to listen better and how to portray my thoughts and feelings clearer and with more care.

Countries I’ve Visited
