ABOUT ME

I was born in Sri-Lanka. Moved to the states when I was four. I grew up in Washington DC. I attended Vassar College studying psychology and religion and then moved to Manhattan. I worked in Manhattan for about two years where I managed a mental health residence. I recently moved back to DC and will reside there until August. Then I move to Berkley, California to begin my doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Wright Institute.

PHILOSOPHY

Enjoy life. Live in the present. Take pleasure in the little things life has to offer. Stay close to your family and friends. Listen to what people say instead of waiting for your turn to talk. Talk, laugh, live.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love to travel! I travel whenever I have free time and some money that I have saved up. While I was working it was very difficult to find time to travel. This is one of the most liberating things about being a student in that it provides large periods of time in which to travel and explore. I hope that during the course of my studies I get the chance to meet many people in the CS community as well as have the privelege of hosting them and showing them where I live.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

While on my trip to Morocco I had wonderful experiences with Couchsurfing. From having tea with someone I met in Marrakesh to most notably staying for three days with my new friend in Agadir.

Interests

Anything that makes me laugh or moves me.

But to be a bit more specific. I love music, all kinds, and love to play the guitar!

I also enjoy practicing Tae-Kwon-Do, watching old Seinfeld episodes, good movies, and peanut-butter

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Backpacked through 4 cities in Belgium, Amsterdam, and Luxembourg in 11 days. Went on Safari in Tanzania. Worked in a clinc on a small beach town in Zanzibar. Traveled from Capetown in South Africa up the west coast in a broke down van, all the way to the Namibian border. Traveled across the north island of New Zealand from Auckland to the northern most tip and then all the way down to Wellington. Traveled around all of Morocco and spent a night out in the Sahara. Was the best man at my brother's wedding, wearing traditional attire, in Sri-Lanka.
