About Me

Hey, I'm Stephanie! I'm a wife, dog mom to 3, and self-proclaimed U.S. road trip addict.

I grew up in the Northeast section of Philadelphia, PA, but currently reside in a tiny backwoods town in Southeast Texas. Talk about culture shock. I moved here with my husband to help care for his grandmother.

Still fitting in some road trips before we get ready for full-time van living in the next few years.

I've visited 37 U.S. states and will probably never see another country (other than Canada and Mexico) because I'm terrified of flying.

I'm vegan, but the chill kind. I don't expect you to go out of your way for me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Would love to make some friends all over the U.S. and save some money on accommodations while I'm at it.

Interests

When traveling: I love coffee, beer, vegan food, board games, live music, and all of the museums.

When at home: Hiking, camping, photography, bookbinding, writing, board games, D & D, video games

Music, Movies, and Books

The best music is live music regardless of genre. I really do like a little bit of everything, though I know that's an annoying answer. Current faves: twenty one pilots, Of Monsters and Men, The Avett Brothers, Watsky, Die Antwoord, The Beatles, and anything else that came out over twenty years ago...

I love to read nonfiction and memoirs. People fascinate me. When that gets too difficult, I'll slip into something easier like YA fiction, fantasy, or suspense. Favorite books: Black Beauty, The Alchemist, Harry Potter.

Yo, if there's a new food or nature documentary on Netflix, I'm all over it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm sure you're looking for some crazy travel story or ridiculous thing I may have done, but I'm just happy to be here. My story could have ended so many times, but I keep getting up and doing this crazy thing called life every day.

... I also bought a school bus with my (now) husband two weeks after getting together and we started building our tiny home. The bus didn't work out, but we did.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you about bookbinding if that's something you're interested in.

I can also cook. I'd love to cook with you and sit down to swap stories over a great meal. We might both walk away with more open minds and hearts.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A meal, a story, a beer, some knowledge, and a new friendship.
