About Me

Just a GEEK who fell in love with the Outdoors.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new friends and create connections. With local people who are familiar with the area where I'm visiting, and help me explore it. And perhaps share each other's adventure stories.

I'm a hugger so expect a hug from me on our first meeting. I believe this is a basic universal human connection, in fact touch is the first language even before we formulated words. And if you're afraid of it, then you're not here to connect, what's the point of traveling and meeting people if you never really get connected. So if you're afraid of touching (even a shake hands, hold hands, high five or fist bumps), communication is the key, and I would respect you more if you're vocal about it.

Also I'm a GEEK who fell in love with the Outdoors, so expect a lot of pop culture references and outdoor topics from me.

I used to live in California for almost 10 years but I haven't explored the rest of the United States before. Then I went back to my home country and after 5 years, I'm going back to the US to explore more of this beautiful country.

So I'm embarking on a "🇺🇸 50-State Bucket List" road trip travel. From state to state and experience its cities have to offer, even for a quick stay based on my budget.

And while traveling, I'm actually researching and learning new things about outdoors, environmental pre-cautions and eco-cultural sustainability. Something I can implement on my green awareness advocacy in Southeast Asia.

ALSO, I am looking for individuals who I would like to challenge, to an outdoor activity on the area (ie. Paddleboarding for 10 miles nonstop, or hiking from one mountain to another, or perhaps rock climbing a difficult route that you haven't tried yet, etc). I would then film and make a short documentary of the whole adventure, for a cause. With a theme and purpose of spreading awareness about the outdoor and environment itself. Sounds fun? So are you up for challenging yourself, while saving the planet?

MESSAGE TO HOSTS:
So since I've been traveling light recently on a budget, I normally booked the cheapest flight and setup a request for that date to the CS hosts.

But sometimes my flight gets adjusted a few days later (or earlier). Depending on whether the flight got delayed/cancelled (that's what I get for cheap flights, thank you Frontier) and rebooked for later dates.

Or, if there is a lower price/promo ticket that I can avail on the earlier dates, my travel gets adjusted earlier as well.

I also have to consider how busy the dates are (ie: holidays and festivals) which I tried to avoid 'cause what I want to experience is the typical day/life on that city without any major events happening.

So whether it would be a few days/week later (or earlier), I always tried my best to inform the host in advance.

MESSAGE TO SURFERS:
Couchsurfing has helped me a lot on my travel and experiencing the world has to offer. So I would love to give back to community and starts accepting guests as much as I can.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Paddling at the Golden Gate (ignorantly) without any research, proper plan or even a lifevest... Just so you know Golden Gate bay is a very dangerous area for paddleboarding: tricky waves, strong current, gutsy wind, big waterspouts, foggy zero visibilty, being hit by kiteboarders or worse, getting capsized by BIG ships. I got lucky to get back alive.

UPDATE =====
Been traveling more recently and doing outdoor adventures while cosplaying or wearing superhero costume (I'm a Geek remember), just see my photos to see what I mean. Also I made a short documentary series about this, to spread awareness about mother Earth. Wondering where to see those adventure videos? Ask me ;)
