I am an avid traveler and have been traveling on and off for over 2 years. I received my university degree in mechanical engineering in the US and am now living and working in Saint Petersburg. After quitting my job as a business consultant in North America my traveling frequency has increased and my appetite for new experiences and cultures have grown exponentially! Big fan of meeting local people on my travels and immersing myself in local life as much as possible. Always up for a good chat over a beer and some crazy adventures!

It is a blast meeting people while traveling in hostels and through foreign friends - I've decided to also add couchsurfing as a source and to be up-to-date of events in my city and in others I travel to!

Traveling and world cultures (lately have been doing more off-the-beaten-path travels and plan to continue that! some places on my wish-list to visit next are Lapland, Murmansk, and northern Norway; Cuba; southern South America; Iran and Jordan; Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam; North Korea; New Zealand). Interested in finances, economics, geopolitics, and history. Fan of cars and all forms of motorsports. Enjoy hiking and mountain biking.

I like a wide range of music including electronic (techno, house, lo-fi, trip-hop...) and all kinds of rock especially older 70's bands and newer heavier stuff. Don't really watch movies lately and generally my reading now consists of finance and business material (though I have a ton of books from famous Russian authors in queue!)

I've driven from northwestern Iceland to Reykjavik in the most brutal snow-storm imaginable! It was a non-stop adrenaline rush and I would love to do it again!
