ABOUT ME

Studied journalism in Madrid and Roskilde, close to Copenhagen. Then I realized it wasn't really what I wanted to do. Then got into a dazed & confused period. Then I moved to Rome and things started to look a bit better. I've been working for a little while now in cultural events, specially film festivals.
As for myself, I'd say I'm quite respectful and open-minded. I like to meet people and try to make everyone feel OK. I hope I'm a little bit fun (otherwise I'm definitely dull).

PHILOSOPHY

It'd be a little bit too much to say I'm a philosopher, but if I had to say something, I wouldn't say anything at all. It all sounds really pretentious!

Interessi

I like music, and unlike most people say, I don't like all music. I love jazz, funk and old R&B. I used to like hard rock and heavy metal, and that's way I still enjoy pretty much a drop of Iron Maiden.
I like cinema, specially arthouse narrative films.
I'm very interested in food. I think what we eat and how we eat it says a lot about ourselves and the place we live in. I think food is basically one of the strongest ways in which we communicate with our environment.

Music: Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, John Coltrane, Bill Evans, James Brown, Fela Kuti, Neil Young, The Meters, Dr. John, Billie Holiday, Cannonball Adderley, Eddie Palmieri, Eddie Bo, Lafayette Afro-Rock Band, Tony Allen, Al Green, Herbie Hancock, The Headhunters, Hot 8 Brass Band, The Blackbyrds, Donny Hathaway, Jimmy Smith, Spam Allstars, Curtis Mayfield, Ray Barretto, Nina Simone, Little Beaver, and I could go on almost forever.
Movies and TV: Definitely The Wire, anything by Orson Welles, John Cassavettes, Nicholas Ray or Billy Wilder, basically everything David Fincher, Mario Monicelli, Andrei Tarkovsky and Martin Scorsese have ever done. And many more, obviously.
Books: I normally read non-fiction and journalism books (and here you can hardly get close to Robert Fisk).
I like soccer and I'm a FCBarcelona supporter since I was 6 (just to point out I didn't start digging them when they began being just perfect).

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

For someone who doesn't like to talk that much about himself, this is getting difficult. I think that amazing things happen to everybody, because it doesn't depend on that thing but on the person who experiences it. I prefer to tell those "amazing things" when talking with other CSers.

Insegna, impara, condividi

I'd say I'm a fairly good cook and really like to learn how other people cook and the other way around.
I've been learning many things throughout my life (maybe not that many) and I think I could contribute to anyone with my knowledge, but I wouldn't say I could teach photography, for instance.
