ABOUT ME

I'm young, black and gifted. Really though, I'm laid back, open-minded, goofy, compassionate, patient and S.M.R.T. smart! I'm the busiest man you'll ever meet. Besides working full time as an HIV Prevention Specialist, I'm also completing my bachelor's in communications and journalism. Currently I'm working on getting certified as a personal trainer. When I'm not working or studying, I love practicing yoga and taekwondo, bike riding, reading, "playing" my guitar, sleeping and watching Netflix.

I'm pretty much a laid back guy who just loves to chill and travel. I joined CS to step out of my comfort zone by meeting new people and experiencing new places.

PHILOSOPHY

Be the change you want to see in the world. I've spent this year working on myself spiritually through prayer, meditation and abstinance. It's been a challenging experience and I've learned a lot on the short journey. I've realized life is a beautiful dynamic gift and the happiness we experience from life isn't just given...we have to work for it. For some of us, moving into alignment with what life has planned for us comes naturally. For some of us, it's a mess. For some of us, it's infinite number of hybrids of both those extremes. No matter what your philosophy, I think we're all here to just simply be authentic, genuine, compassionate and happy and to experience that endless joy that's always available. We all take different paths, but end the end we find our way back to that source.

As of right now, I'm new to CS and just looking to crash on some couches in between trips to the beach and making new friends.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm a newbie. I have my concerns about sleeping on a stranger's couch, but I'm willing to lean into discomfort for the experience.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

After graduating high school, I attended an eight day summer camp where I learned about dismantling systems of oppression. It was a life changing experience that changed my look on life and anti-oppression work. I've since returned as a staff member three times and will be completing my fourth summer as a staff member. I had dinner with Bobby Seale, one of the founding members of the Black Panther Party. I recently saw Angela Davis speak. A giant talking alien head gave me me and my four friends the ability to transform into costumed super heroes with unmatched martial arts skills, badass gadgets, and giant robots. Sometimes we save the world. Most of the time we get burritos from Chipotle and play Mario Kart.

I don't know what skills I can offer. I love fitness and am willing to share my experience and knowledge with others. I'll feel confident giving more instructions after I'm certified. I've also done a lot of anti-oppression work and don't mind talking about dismantling systems of oppression.
