Hi, my name is Serin. I'm a 21 year old non-binary human who loves travelling and the great outdoors. I'm a student in medieval literature at Oxford and I love old books, architecture, paintings-you name it! I'm a keen yogi and guitarist (I'm working on them both!) and I love long rambling hikes and meaningful conversations. I'm hooked on outdoor sports like kayaking and climbing, and would love to learn to ski and surf. I also appreciate immersing myself in a country's culture and discovering hidden gems off the beaten track. I speak English, French and a bit of Spanish. I adore animals so if you have pets that would be a bonus! I have an adorable little dog back home called Pixie who may or may not be coming on my travels with me, but be sure I'll warble on about her if you ask!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love discovering countries not just from an outsider's perspective but from the viewpoint of people who actually live there, who really love their surroundings and who know the secret spots that make where they are special! It's also so nice to make friends when travelling and to connect with people who have similar interests to make the trip more social and enjoyable.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love the author Jeanette Winterson, and I'm a big fan of fantasy both in literature and films. I also like books about human interaction and have recently starting getting more into detective fiction. The BBC Sherlock series may have contributed to that! I need to read more Neil Gaiman as he's really cool, and I'm trying to deepen my knowledge of fun medieval texts about knights and adventuring! I also read books about mountaineering just to make myself jealous! I like chilled out indie music like Jason Mraz, and I'm also a fan of electronic music like Owl City.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Raised a beautiful and loving little dog from a puppy to the cheeky, affectionate, all round wonderful furball she is now!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm not an amazing cook but I do enjoy getting in the kitchen and rustling up some experimental recipes with whatever I've found in the shops/at the market. I like playing the guitar and singing, and can do a bit of yoga/meditation with you too! I like chatting about random things too so if you enjoy conversation then that would be fab.
