About Me

I shoot video for the medical research system at duke and learn many new things about heart doctoring all day long. I figure that if I stay at this job long enough they will have to give me a MD.

I have a large collection of jackets and I love spending time outside. The fall weather makes me long for the mountains and blues music makes me want to dance.

I've met very few pizzas that I do not like and I've been learning to yoga.

I love to travel and cook and change my ways of thinking whenever it feels right. I often admit I'm wrong, even when it's hard.

I also create loads of podcasts. Ask if you wanna hear one.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've recently realized what a pleasure it is to have a home base when you are traveling. It's wonderful to have a local show you around and I'm looking to meet new folks and give back to the traveling community that has given me so much.

Music, Movies, and Books

Too many.

Currently, I'm reading Seveneves by Neal Stephenson.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My brother married a Chinese lady and I went to the wedding in China.

After the ceremony hundreds of family and friends gathered round to celebrate the couple.

It's tradition for the groom to go from table to table toasting and drinking shots of rice liquor with everyone.

After about an hour of this, my brother was in a bad way and looked around for help.

Gallantly, I stepped in and took over the toasting.

It did not end well.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I've got a hammock, a soft rug and a coach. The hammock live in my living room and is amazingly comfortable. Lots of blankets are also available.
