ABOUT ME
I'm a pretty relaxed guy, and at 6'7", perhaps a bit of a big friendly giant. I'm from a bit of an itinerant background - I've grown up mostly between England and America, with a few years spent in Japan and Switzerland to boot. People sometimes think I'm Dutch or Irish for some reason.
PHILOSOPHY
"Nature has placed mankind under the governance of two sovereign masters, pain and pleasure. It is for them alone to point out what we ought to do, as well as to determine what we shall do" - Jeremy Bentham
I believe in hedonism. Not take-as-many-drugs-and-fuck-as-much-as-possible, just having a good time for everybody's sake. Having a good time is all about your attitude
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I live in a large shared house, with other people who are not members of couchsurfing. I cannot say I can accept any requests on my own, but will pass it by the other housemates. One of my other housemates, Harry Harrison, is on CS and you can check him out too http://www.couchsurfing.org/profile.html?id=46PXQ6K
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've only been couchsurfing twice;
The first time was in Cork, and an absolutely fantastic guy showed me and my friend around all the bars, and made sure we had a good time! We had a really, really good time but then I woke up in a different house... Guinness is not good for you!
The second time I stayed in Copenhagen and stayed at a guy's before Roskilde festival. He convinced me to try some of his 'Danish delight' and we then spent the next half hour listening to Trentmoller and watching two flies dance. I love couchsurfing
Interests
I really love cycling, and have done a fair few cycling trips. I enjoy travelling (who doesn't on couchsurfing?) and have really been impressed by the kindness and generosity of people I've met through this site. I used to be a big geek, into my gaming and LAN parties and suchlike, but now I'm too busy with studies and proper adult things. I'm up for
- festivals
- dancing
- partying
- traveling
- cycling
Music, Movies, and Books
The Shadow of the Wind - Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Indignation - Philip Roth (or anything by this guy really)
The Blind Assassin - Margaret Atwood
Tiny Furniture (some random arthouse film - was really good). Seven monkeys, Requiem for a Dream (the connaiseurs' trainspotting), Manufactured lanscapes (a film about Burtynsky - the man who will change your attitude to the planet without saying a word),
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One time, I saw this guy eat his own face.
No joke
