Sporadic, peripatetic, world traveler. Long term TD/THE member, founded HHI (hitch-hike international) and first (and only) youth hostel in Sharon Springs (upstate NY) in the 80's. Language, diversity, memory: one world bounded by concern for others.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

proceeding in reverse. available floor, couch, mattress, tent (u bring); spring/summer/fall. lots of room, cold running water, shared toilet.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

bumpiest couches: (1) top-tier wood slats on 24 hr bus from Guangdong to Hainan; (2) gravel under bench near Hilo
