Overview
About Me
I am from North Carolina and have lived in France for four years. My wife, Audrey, is from the Brittany region of France.
We moved to the Montparnasse neighborhood in the 14th arrondissement of Paris in 2014. We'd love to suggest the best cafés, restaurants, and activities in the neighborhood and will give you a métro map and help you determine the best ways to get around and explore Paris!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We work with people from around the world and are excited to meet more!
We are available to host or meet for coffee or drinks in early evening or on the weekends.
Interests
My love of France and French culture started with music and film. While in college, I hosted a French music radio show and led a conversation club. Now I work with American students in Paris, encouraging them to get involved and engaged in French life and French culture.

Music, Movies, and Books
I used to have a small, portable record player from the 60s that was battery powered. When my room mates would go to the record store to buy records to DJ at parties, they would get lots of French Touch and Italo-Disco records. The speaker in my portable record player was located directly under the disk, and any kind of bass would cause the record to skip. This led me to buy mostly slower records, hot jazz, stax records, and quite a few French artists from the yéyé days. I love listening to these records today.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My nephew suffers from a rare disease, and my brother and his wife have created a foundation to support families with children of rare diseases. I live far away, in Europe, but created a soccer style scarf to support the cause. Whenever I travel I take a picture with the scarf to show its support around the world and spread the message. The scarf challenge has grown and may have participated all over the US and and around the world.
