About Me

Facebook - seungyeon hong (sangmyung)
Hi! I'm a 20 years old university student who lives in Seoul, South Korea. I decided to travel around the world from April of 2016

My speciality is educating children and I wish to be a school teacher in the future.

What I like to travel, to cook, to learn about music, animals and language overall.

But, my favourite is, of course, to travel. The reason is that I get to meet new people and experience something I've done never before

Some people say I am always optimistic and on the look out for adventure, so much that some people think I'm too "boyish" haha.

I am friends and fascinated by all living things, mostly human relationships. I was wondering if you could be my friend in this life journey.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Like I mentioned before, meeting new people and tasting new culture are the reasons why I travel.

The best way to have it all, I believe, is to couch surf. Living under one roof, to me, is sharing, listening and eating together. This itself is making new friends and, in the end, families.

Be my friend! And most of all, please be my family!

Music, Movies, and Books

Mainly I like to listen to Kpop and Jpop, but I also am a big fan of pop music artists like Adele. My favourite movie is Dead Poets Society, perhaps because I wish to be a loving teacher.

To be frank, I only learned the love of reading while traveling and along the way, the most emotionally deep book I have read was Brida.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think my biggest asset is travelling for a year itself and travelling that gave me priceless gifts. It is one unforgettable thing I have done and I cherish it to myself deeply.

Teach, Learn, Share

I had three teachers in my life: the professor who taught me Japanese, my parents who I have respected and loved alike and the people I've met so far in my life and their experiences that make my life richer.

I am still on my learning path and the passion within still burns brightly.

What I Can Share with Hosts

1. I love cooking! I am not experienced with cooking Western cuisine but I am confident in teaching how to make Korean food!

2. I'm not an expert at English but I am in Japanese and Korean. If you'd like I am always willing to tell you about the two countries culturally and spiritually as a whole.

3. If you'd like to travel I can share some stories of mine that hopefully will help you. I am always willing to give an insight of how culture works in the countries I've been in.

To be quite honest, I am not a talented few! 😊 I would like to bond with you guys and share my life story abd weaknesses like a family.
