About Me

Driven by values of solidarity and empowerment, I have been a social youth worker for the last 15 years. Besides, I have been teaching French as a foreign language to people seeking political asylum in France for the past 2 years.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Since october 2022, I have started travelling in the context of a sabbatical leave. So far I have done mostly Wwoofing and workaway missions in Crete and Morocco. Before going back to Morocco to explore the berber villages, I needed to step out of the country to renew my visa. A perfect occasion to explore more of the beautiful city of Granada. I came only for 3 days already in 2008 and eversince it stayed in my heart. I have been in Granada since wednesday the 5th of April in a hostel. I am checking out on Monday 10th. But I m not ready to leave the city. So I am hoping to find a host here to share more of the city vibe. I will be happy to share my experiences with you and cook for you. Thank you in advance if you are interested!

Music, Movies, and Books

Listening to PJ Harvey and the Velvet Underground the same week when I was 13 changed my life forever. I love Anna Calvi, David Byrne and mythic Stop Making sense tour, David Bowie and all kinds of traditional musics.
I love cinema from the French and American classics, to mafia and film noir movies, French and English new wave, Buñuel, David Lynch, Pedro Almodovar, Xavier Dolan and any movie with a good scenario. Recent films that made an impression on me: Holy spider, Parasite and feminist western Meek’s cutoff.
A book that changed my like: The Incantation of Frida K. (Poetical experimental fiction).
Visiting Crete last autumn, I discovered Nikos Kasantsakis and loved his celebration of life in Zorba the Greek and the account of his travels in Japan and China in The Rock Garden.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelling in the Balkans with a fellow guitarist doing street music. I was singing along.
