About Me

CURRENT MISSION

moving back out west in August

ABOUT ME

Plant nerd. City girl who loves the outdoors - or is it the other way around? Story lover, especially those involving personal embarrassment, drunken nights, brushes with fame, or wild animals. Extra points for hitting on all of them. Budget travel maestro.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I LOVE this city and am happy to share my knowledge of the music scene, awesome places to camp or cabin, great urban or nature hikes, biking the Bayfront, how to get around, talking history, getting some cocktails and watching the city from a nice vantage point, and great eating of the budget and fancy kind.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted folks in the past through another website and stayed with some CSers on a roadtrip.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm generally drawn to non-fiction. We live in a very strange and interesting world and I want to know all about it. I like soul in my music whether it be gritty 60s soul, delta blues, west end era disco, chicago house or detroit techno. But I also like music that features a lot of white noise. Or noise in general.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've pursued the plant ecology thing so I could work outside in beautiful places. So far it's lead me to three month stints in Moorea, French Polynesia, the deadly but beautiful Everglades (with daily airboat commutes), and the amazing high desert of Idaho where I saw antelope and rattlesnakes everyday, went to the most beautiful hot spring ever (Goldbug!!!) and had a surprise run-in with a moose where we stared into each other's eyes.

Let's just call all of that stuff "one" amazing thing, okay?

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a pretty good amount of stuff about electronic music, plants, getting cheap airfares, and living very well on not much money. I want to learn how to hunt and dress animals. I know some of you will find that appalling, but it seems like a really good skill to have.

Countries I’ve Visited

French Polynesia, Germany, Panama
