About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Getting my masters in Social Work
ABOUT ME
I'm 25. Lived in New Jersey most of my life. Currently a graduate student getting my degree in Social Work with a Concentration in International and Community Development. I want to work internationally helping to set up locally run environmental programs. This is a big change in my life stemming from the time I spent as a community organizer for AmeriCorps in an environmental organization.
I belong some where that is hot all the time.
I'm an active ambitious person who sometimes bites off more than I can chew, but somehow always manages to get it down.
PHILOSOPHY
Keep on trucking? Life's a garden, dig it? I don't know; Simple pleasures, big adventures. Yeah I like that.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm a social worker who works on community development so I think this site is awesome. I really believe in the giving economy and this site is a great example. I would like to participate more in the future.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I spent two weeks hitchhiking around New Zealand "couch surfing" the old fashion way. That is hitching a ride and hoping people offer me a place to stay or sleeping outside. This site is a great resource for travelers! We had one traveler stay with us for a few weeks at my last house.
Interests
Traveling obviously. Definitely an off the beaten path traveler. I love the outdoor; the beach, rock climbing, hiking. I'm an avid reader and knowledge seeker. I like science but I'm also very into the arts.

Music, Movies, and Books
Bill Murray is the man, anything with him is great. Other than that I like Wes Anderson, Cohen Brothers, Tarantino. My favorite movie at this point is the Squid and the Whale.
I read a lot of non-fiction narration, mostly memoirs and travel writing. Top authors: John Fante, Maarten Troost, Hunter S. Thompson. Favorite books: Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance and The Unbearable Lightness of Being.
I listen to the full spectrum of music. Grew up on classic rock and reggae from my mom. Got into punk rock and ska after that. Spent some time with the Grateful Dead, Phish, Radiohead. Lately I've been listening to Hot Chip, the Good the bad the queen, the Rentals, MGMT, Nick Drake, Ray Charles, and a lot of Nigeria 70.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Spent three days lost in an uninhabited jungle in the Kingdom of Tonga with hardly any food or water.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have a really diverse education, including a B.S. in Astronomy & Astrophysics so my friends like to ask me all sorts of things. I've spent many late nights discussing everything from black holes to post modern philosophy. I believe everyone has something to teach and I love to learn from everyone I can.
