About Me

To spread the joy of puns the world over, for a good pun is its own reword.

Bopping about Glasgow for the time being, doing Glasgow stuff. Ya know. Up for a jam and a pint and a chat, so give me a shout. If anyone wants to go adventuring, let me know; I'll grab my helmet.

It's all about the experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Jam sessions, drinking sessions, hiking sessions, all sorts of sessions really. Surfing and hopefully soon to host again if I can get a surfing-friendly flat sorted.

Brilliant! Being a part of Couchsurfing has exposed some of the most altruistic people I have met, willing to open their homes and their lives to complete strangers in return for some good conversation.

Puns, dinosaurs, hats, banjo, the number 3, photography, old wooden boxes, sustainability, urban exploring, rural exploring, Stephen Fry, hiking, pub banter, semi-colons, dogs, human pyramids, hidden talents, stationery, weird forgotten words, old keys

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - nearly everything really, although particularly partial to folk fusions. Crazy Icelandic ballads to Balkan fiddle to Irish airs.
Movies - Fight Club, Amelie, Moulin Rouge, Little Miss Sunshine, Black Books, Mighty Boosh, Father Ted, nature documentaries...
Books - Most stuff by Beckett, Nabokov, and Chekhov, Calvin and Hobbes, Catcher in the Rye, The Great Gatsby, Lolita, Lord of the Rings, and on and on

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The Northern Lights in Iceland - I felt like Mickey Mouse in the opening scene of Fantasia...epic!

Flying trapeze - Although, perhaps Falling Trapeze would be more accurate, turns out I'm not very good...

An erupting volcano on the island of Lombok in Indonesia

Legging it across Isla del Sol in Lake Titicaca before the sun set and left us high and dry...

Hiking up to Salkantay in Peru, and then on to Machu Picchu...

Teach, Learn, Share

Could probably teach a bit of trad Irish music. I'd be most happy to try in any case. Also, I've got a few puns up my sleeve, if that be your inclination.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Austria, Bolivia, Canada, Ecuador, Hungary, Indonesia, Peru, Slovakia, Spain, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Bermuda, Iceland, Ireland, Netherlands, United Kingdom, United States
