ABOUT ME

I am a quiet person that is just as happy reading a good book as I am hanging out with friends. I enjoy trying new things, but I'm not the spontaneous type, usually.

I was pursuing a career in music, and even played in some professional gigs, but I've rethought my career path and am now considering a route using my enjoyment of Asia as a new starting point. I have been fascinated with Asia for years, Japan in particular. I've studied some Japanese, but I'm not that great at it yet. I'm also interested in learning Korean and Chinese as well, but will be taking it one language at a time.

There's probably something else I could include, but I might just be too boring to think about it...

PHILOSOPHY

Treat others as you want to be treated, even if they are an absolutely terrible person.

兴趣

Aside from music, movies, and reading, I also enjoy watching a good soccer (football) match, eating delicious and different foods, playing the occasional video game (for way too long), and hiking isn't all that bad if in good company.

movies: The Usual Suspects, Final Cut, Fearless, anime in general.

music: almost anything but country and rap. I prefer orchestral, electronica (dub step, house, etc.), and jazz.

I was at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta and saw Nigeria win the gold medal in soccer.

I did one semester of study abroad in Japan and traveled to South Korea and Taiwan while I was there.

I hold a bachelors in music performance, so I can talk some about music theory and how to read music in general.

I am willing to learn almost anything, but I am most interested in topics concerning East Asia at the moment.
