Overview
About Me
We (Maryam and Shahab) started surfing couches and hosting travelers in 2008, while we were living in Malaysia, even before Couchsurfing.com was well-known, and through the www.travellersfortravellers.com platform which is already down, unfortunately.
We both love traveling and socializing with people, especially those from less-known origins and cultures.
It's not nice to talk about our positive characteristics, and we recommend you read our reviews instead, but just for the sake of familiarization, we are friendly and honest. People trust us very fast. Shahab is introverted guy, while Maryam is an extrovert.
We both love culture, history, psychology, and almost all types of human sciences.
PHILOSOPHY
Life is a travel between 2 worlds. One is short and ending, and one is infinite and never-ending. The first one is a preparation for the latter one. And we're going to prepare ourselves. One of our mediums for this purpose is CS and traveling the worlds of people we can encounter and meet during our preparation period, not just the earth. For that, we need close relationships, even if they're short. And for that closeness, we need to live with them, even for one day. We hope we'll be a good companion for everybody that we meet, both our guests or our hosts.
Would you like to stay with us as a CS? We love knowing and hosting new friends too.
BUT FOR BETTER MATCHING, PLEASE READ OUR "HOME INFO" COMPLETELY BEFORE SENDING A REQUEST.
Although we don't expect you to tailor your request per host, we won't respond to the blind copy-and-paste requests, because we're on CS for making friends and cultural exchange, not as a hotel only.
The cost of CS for us is more than its savings on accommodation or meals because we mostly are hosts rather than guests, and we love and enjoy it. But it also makes us a little sensitive about who we host or even whose guests we would be.
