About Me
(Sorry, I'm not accepting any guests because I do not have my own place in Singapore)
Hi, my name is Shahadan but everyone calls me Shadi. I love traveling but I'm currently still struggling to finish up my bar examinations so that I can be qualified as a lawyer. Would love to see the world and make new friends. As corny as it sounds, I believe that the world is a book and those who don't travel only read one page of it (credit to St Augustine).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
It would be cool to meet new people from different parts of the world, and to have someone show me around or at least introduce cool places for me to visit in different cities. In return, I will be sure to entertain those I meet with lame dad jokes and terrible singing :)
Also, I've heard so many great things about Couchsurfing and I have always wanted to try it out for myself. Have had the pleasure to experience Couchsurfing with a host in Netherlands once, and it was an incredible experience, so I'm keen to keep traveling and meeting people when I do have the time.
Interests
I enjoy singing and have performed numerous times before, both in and out of school. I sing pop, rock, jazz and recently have been trying to teach myself how to rap. Also performed in my school musical at the start of 2019, which was an entirely original production to raise funds for charity. Music has always been a huge passion of mine and it will continue to be so until the end of time.
I also enjoy watching critically acclaimed films and I have a list of must-watch movies on my phone. Also I can probably quote every line from The Dark Knight.

Music, Movies, and Books
I recently read American Psycho and it's hilarious. Other books I love include Ready Player One, Harry Potter, 1984, Brave New World, Lord of the Flies, anything by Dan Brown or Khaled Hosseini
Huge fan of Game of Thrones though the last season was a bit of letdown. How could they let Jaime Lannister finish his story arc just like that?? Also love How I Met Your Mother, Suits, Stranger Things, Breaking Bad, Master of None, Mindhunter, The Good Place, Silicon Valley
Favourite movie of all time would probably be School of Rock. I've watched that at least a hundred times.
Music: Am really into rock, rap, metal, EDM, and pop (Charli XCX's latest album is pure gold)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In August 2017, I sang on stage in front of a huge crowd at Clementi Stadium. That was probably the closest I'll ever get to being a rockstar.
Also went to teach kids at a local school in Amritsar, India, in the summer of 2016 for a period of 2 weeks. One of the most memorable experiences of my life so far. It was such an eye-opening experience, seeing how the kids were so content with the smallest things such as a funny video on Youtube and listening to their favourite songs. It really put my life in perspective and made me so much more grateful for the opportunities I have been blessed with.

I can also share my experiences in law school and the path to a legal career, but I'm not sure if anyone actually would want to hear that.
