About Me

CURRENT MISSION

not to be a missionary. of any sort

ABOUT ME

my motorcycle's called 'queen betsy' - don't ask :)
sooo, besides the fact that i'm uber sexy, extra intelligent and exceedingly funny, i also possess generous doses of humility and modesty.
on a completely different tangent, i am interested in so many things i am not an expert in any of them, but quite knowledgeable in most. if that makes sense...

PHILOSOPHY

it's so complicated and intelligent, i don't understand it myself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

by offering the use of my couch, my home and my knowledge, and by hoping to be offered the same when time comes that i can't stay put anymore (which will be soon)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

only one: a French couple who had been travelling around Europe for 7 months on bicycles. Blaise and Isa. Amazing!

Have to update this: i've had loads of couchsurfers so far.

Interests

too many and too ecclectic to list. anything involving knowledge in a form that doesn't require too many formulae and figures. anything practical, if it means i don't have to do much physical work :)
on top of the list i'd say literature, tango, cultural studies, travelling, motorcycling and sports (playing, not watching).

  • literature
  • tango
  • traveling
  • sports
  • cultural studies

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies - any type, any age, any country. i hate the dubbed ones, although that's how i learned italian. depending on the mood and company, i can enjoy watching arty cinema, as well as undemanding superficial flicks.
Music - i don't have favourite styles, bands or artists or if i do they change every week or so. i don't like listening to music while i travel, as it blocks out a big chunk of the travelling experience i think. sounds are a major component of the experience of wandering around countries like india for instance.
Books - good literature (as an example, good literature would be Antoine de Saint-Exupery - The Citadel, whereas crappy literature would be something like Dan Brown.) Arguably my favourite book is Steinbeck's "Grapes of Wrath", favourite poet would be Walt Whitman and the Romanian Nichita Stanescu; I also love Japanese maedieval poetry, South American prose etc. etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

lived in india for a year - that would be the best year of my life, soaked in india's smells, colours and crazy sounds.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Czech Republic, Ethiopia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Jamaica, Moldova, Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Togo, Turkey, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Ghana, India, Romania
