I'm a native born and bred Kiwi who is currently on a solo adventure! I have worked with people in the community/social service sector for the past 12years and have particularly enjoyed meeting people from different cultures. I'm hoping to see a bit of what is going on in this type of work around the world and have my mind opened by experiencing the way others do life and getting a glimpse into their cultures! Currently in South East Asia, traveling around until July when I head to London to find work and travel Europe!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couch surfing for three reasons:

1) to meet like minded travelers wanting to get amongst the local culture.

2) to meet locals that may have a couch for me to crash on.

3) to meet some travelers or locals to party with!

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite movie is hands down the Lion King. I'm a sucker for tear jerker.

I recently saw Lion which was so intense that it made me question whether or not I would even handle visiting India...that movie is a roller coaster.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In my early 20's (I can say that now I'm 30 right?) I completed a course called Outward Bound. This course involved tramping, sailing, climbing, running, and sleeping for three nights alone in the bush...without a tent. Luckily the bush pigs didn't tear me to pieces and the possums were kind enough to not climb on my face while I slept. Oh, and I kayaked backwards through some rapids and down a waterfall...

I have around 10years experience as a youth worker so I always have a handful of cringy ice breakers on hand to make a new group gel.
