About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Find a place I belong

ABOUT ME

I have a sarcastic sense of humour and enjoy laughing. I'm fairly reserved; I enjoy alone time but want to know people when I'm out and about. I'm not into clubbing or anything like that and I feel more comfortable in a coffee shop than a loud place.

I try to not think I know someone until I've gotten to know them. It's not as easy as we think and I feel like most people are guilty of judging too quickly.

PHILOSOPHY

Trying to be open to new things and people while understanding that not everyone will get along with everyone else and that it's totally ok. I've missed out on a lot of things by being scared of uncertainty and that is something I'm changing bit by bit.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Total beginner.

Interests

Reading is important to me, as is music. I listen to a lot of music: punk, indie, some orchestral, Balkan brass, etc.

I've recently gotten into zines and enjoy reading about people's everyday lives and the struggles they have.

Bike riding is fun although I'm not doing it when there's ice on the ground.

Music, Movies, and Books

I just finished reading Patti Smith's "Just Kids" and was very impressed with it.

Kundera, Steinbeck, John Green

Music ranges from Minor Threat, Modest Mouse, The National, Defiance, Ohio, smaller labels such as Plan-it-X, Don Giovanni, No Idea. Ever once in a while, I'll check out a cd from the "World Music" section of the library. I've had good luck with Serbian and Sufi music.

I'm not a big movie person, something about them makes it hard for me to focus for very long, but I do like the tv shows that everyone likes: Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Parks & Rec, etc.

I also enjoy Marc Maron's podcast.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was in Slovenia I hiked to the top of a mountain. It wasn't the highest one around, but it still look most of the day to complete and at one point I had to crawl. It was great to get to the top, even if it was too foggy to really see anything.

I drove a friend for GA to UT in three days and was blown away at the size and geographical diversity of this country, while finding it sad how similar every exit in this country is. I like local specialities, thinks that make an area unique.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bosnia and Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Poland, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
