ABOUT ME

Hey everybody! My name's Shane Kelly & I'm a 19 year old male with a cheery personality! I love meeting new people and finding new ways to have lots of fun! My favorite hobbies are skateboarding, watching anime, making art and listening to great music. (with headphones!) I won't be rocking out in your living room haha(: unless you want to with me! Basically, my parents aren't in the picture. I've been doing it all on my own since I turned 18, and I've fallen on a bit of hard times. I've got a great spirit and a lot of determination, I really want to succeed! I've got kind of an idea of what I'd like to do for a profession ( Build Historical Videogames) but I'm still open to my career path! So hey, show me something cooler! My personal philosophy is still evolving, I don't have life figured out yet! I'm open to new things, and if I do know one thing it's that kindness pays off! oh, here's one that's always rung true. Give without expecting anything in return and then you'll receive! I'm just a kid, I don't know! :p

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

If you've got housework, consider it done. I'm a hard worker and I'm willing to clean, clean and clean some more. I'm NOT expecting a free ride. I'll cook dinner, wash your dog or your car, teach you how to do art, we can dance together, or maybe you need a buddy to come to the gym with you? Or you want me to be a ninja and shadow somebody you know, I love recon(: Anything you got for me, I'm up for it. Let's have an adventure!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like watching documentaries about ancient civilization's and the oceans! I like history a lot and that plays a part in my movie/book taste. I love ALL types of music, and I love hearing new songs and new genres. I listen to music whenever I can. I like Daft Punk a lot, those guys make beautiful music with funky sounds! I just love it! I'm no "gangsta" but I LOVE Tupac, he was so idealistic. He opened people's eyes to what was really going on in the slums of L.A. He had valid points and great arguments. His music was more than a beat, he changed the world. That's the kind of music I like(:

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Okay, this is a great one. Me & a few buddies went on a hike to Penasquitos Canyon Reserve Waterfall. We hiked for a few hours to get to the waterfall, and when we got there I was taken away by the beauty of it all. I decided to climb to a tall rock about seven feet above the bottom of the falls. I'm staring out into the beautiful horizon, absolutely breathless, and Swan glides right past me into the air. Suddenly I have an irresistible urge to jump! So I do! I landed like a frog on all fours on the rock below, I made it! One problem...I had jumped onto a rock surrounded by water! The bank of the creek was far apart on both sides, and there were three rocks I was going to have to jump too about two feet apart from each other in order to reach shore. On any normal day I would have been asking myself why I had been so impulsive, but today I somehow knew exactly what I was doing. As if I was Free-Running Professionally for years, I jump rock to rock to rock to the bank just like Ninja! Get this though, I turn around to see if my friends had seen what I had just done, and standing behind me were eight other hikers cheering and clapping and running over to me! I couldn't believe I had done it, let alone in front of a crowd! I was so happy, I felt like it was just meant to happen, and it was amazing!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a bit of an artist, and I love to draw. I want to be taught more art skills and give art lessons. We can sit down after dinner & I can teach you Zen tangles, a form of art I really like! I want to learn how to do so many things; play instruments, dance, make music, become a better artist, work out, juggle, build puppets, bracelets, sew, (I'm reaching here! haha). Basically, I want to learn how to do everything!
