About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To prove that bliss comes not from ignorance but instead from experience

ABOUT ME

I would rather regret the things I've done wrong than regret having never tried . . .

I'm as easy-going as people come; I believe I can get along with almost anyone. I enjoy a wild night on the town just as much as a quiet, relaxing evening at home.

PHILOSOPHY

You can be as mean as you want to me (though not really). But no matter how nice you are to me, if you're not nice to the waiter, you're not a nice person.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

hosted quite a few surfers . . . surfed a few times . . . gone to some meetups while travelling

Interests

Skiing, Hiking, Biking, Foreign Languages, Poker, Scrabble, Culinary Exploration, Cooking, and getting lost/exploring new places.

Music, Movies & Books

Books: Vonnegut, Orwell and Huxley to name a few . . .

I like good movies; i.e. I dislike most of the summer blockbusters . . . I do love me a good zombie movie a la "28 days later" (I recognize the antagonists in this movie aren't technically zombies - but you get the point) though.

As far as music . . . I like almost anything that isn't American Country music or over-commercialized pop. I listen to a lot of indie and electronic (more daft punk than DJ Tiesto, if you get my drift)

One Amazing Thing I've Done

Well . . . as far as things I've seen . . . a feeding frenzy at dawn in the galapagos island is probably the most impressive thing I had ever seen in nature . . . that is until I saw a 450lb anaconda in the wild. Suffice to say . . . I'm a big fan of Ecuador.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm always up for trying to share/teach/learn a new language. Nevertheless, I find that doing so is becoming increasingly difficult in my old age :p

things I can teach:

poker (see "occupation")
guitar
languages
fundamentals of basketball
skiing and playing in snow
scrabble (by "teach", I probably just mean "beat you at . . .")

Countries I've Visited

Ecuador

Countries I've Lived In

Hungary, United States
