About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Living and travelling in Europe!!!
ABOUT ME
I am Shane. I prefer to be unsure of everything because I'll probably be embarrased about what I think today tomorrow... If that makes sense. I really like all of the arts and humanities, I'm sure of that.
PHILOSOPHY
Anything Lord Henry Wotton ever said. I'm unsure of everything myself and why even bother when someone else has already said it better.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I want to become a life artist. I am committed to learning, living and listening. I think it can happen especially through surfing. Plus I love my mum and she tells all of her friends that I'm really cool and nice.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
CouchSurfing is a privilege that encourages people to be generous, trusting and responsible citizens. In my experience, it is exemplified in people who wish to have an experience of local knowledge and culture rather than those who wish to simply save money on accommodation. The greatest people I have encountered are those who will happily share conversation, food and wine. The accommodation only sweetens the deal.
Interests
All of the arts. Plus I used to surf when I was little and I miss it a lot.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books by Doug Adams, Oscar WIlde, Tim Flannery, John Steinbeck, Nick Cave, Irvine Welsch, Chuck Palahniuk, Alain de Botton, Albert Camus, Franz Kafka... among others. Any movie by Wes Anderson, Kauffman, Tarantino... Music by Radiohead, Nick Cave, RHCP, any of my friends, anyone who has written something by themselves with the slightest amount of passion, or anything endorsed by like minded, educated individuals. There is so much good stuff out there that i can't wait to find.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I went to London for only two weeks and randomly sourced tickets for a highly acclaimed theatre production called 'Warhorse'. It was spectacular on all levels... It was even more memorable because I was literally sitting next to the Queen and her entourage. I'm not a big fan of the British Monarch, but it was pretty amazing to be sitting next to one of the biggest profiles in the world. I grabbed a tabloid the next day and it was her first incognito public event in 7 years... The show was still far better than her royal majesty, but all in all surreal.
