ABOUT ME

I am a recent graduate of Appalachian State University in Boone, NC where I majored in Recreation Management witch a concentration in Outdoor Experiential Education. I also received a minor in Special Education. For the past few summers I have been living and working in Skagway, Alaska. I have been extremely fortunate in my travels of the US during my lifetime and I greatly value these opportunities. I believe interactions with new people greatly contribute to a persons quality of life. It is my goal to capitalize on the opportunities provided through travel and interactions with new people as to become a fuller, more complete person

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

While in Alaska I live in a tent, however I have two hammocks hanging up which are covered by tarps. These hammocks are up for grabs if interested. At the end of the summer season I plan on working my way across the US from Alaska to North Carolina and plan on using couch surfer to achieve this.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have never participated in this awesome process. Many of my friends make use of this service and I have had the opportunity to meet some awesome people during their hosting experiences.

Interests

I enjoy traveling and engaging myself in new environments, especially the outdoors. While outdoors I enjoy hiking, camping, sea kayaking, and canoeing. Although I participate in these the most often I am open to new opportunities. I plan on eventually serving as an educator in the outdoors, because of this I enjoy learning new information related to this. I was recently introduced to the art of gathering edible and medicinal plants. This is an awesome field and I wish to expand my knowledge related to useful plants.
