I am a Californian working away in Shanghai, China to further my career and carve out a professional niche for myself. I enjoy the challenges my job brings me and I am completely grateful for the opportunity I have to live in a country other than my own. I always enjoy meeting new people and hearing their stories. I am really an open book and would love to share my experiences with others and make new memories with future friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have made some great friends through couch surfing. I think it is a wonderful way to experience culture on a more personal level and encourages interaction and dialogue.

Interests

I have many interests and they are always changing. One of my top interests is music. I don't think I can accomplish any task without listening to music. Another great thing I enjoy is gardening. Especially gardening in an urban landscape. Lastly, I love cooking. I grow my own herbs, and if I could, I would find a way to grow or collect my own spices.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think one of the most amazing things I have done in my life is/was choosing to live in China. I came to China for a short stint to collect data for my thesis, and I have now been here for over four years. I enjoy learning about the language and culture.

What I Can Share with Hosts
