ABOUT ME

My name is Shanna, I'm 28 years old and I'm half Dutch half Portuguese. I was born in Holland, at the moment I am still living in a small city called Leiden (between Amsterdam and Rotterdam), but I quit my 9 to 5 job as a projectmanager at a translation company and I have given up my apartment to travel in Mexico and Cuba for at least 3 months....
Sitting in front of a computer 40 hours a week is just not for me and the moment has come to stop living that type of life and do something else... I need some new inspiration and what better way to relax and think clearly than going on an adventurous backpack trip in Latin America :D

I would like to think that I am very open minded, extremely easy going, spontaneous but I am also a serious person. I am very interested in other countries and cultures and would like to see as many places as possible! I always try to travel as much as I can. I care about people and great experiences in life!

PHILOSOPHY

Enjoy life to the fullest!!! Don't waste your time doing things you don't truely love just because society tells you that's the only and right way to do it. Live your own life!

Always be honest, true to yourself and others and just be friendly and thankful. With a positive, honest and appreciative attitude, good things and people will come to you...

I can't host at the moment as I will not be having a place to live....

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted some surfers when I was living in Lisbon and I did some couch surfing myself when I was in the States on a vacation. It was so wonderfull!! The people I met through cs are special to me, because we shared some great moments. It was so nice meeting 2 of them again in my own country years after they hosted me :D

兴趣

I have a passion for dancing!!!! I am most passionate about salsa, bachata and merengue, but I also like Brazilian and African dances such as forró and kizomba. I love to go out and just dance all night! I can not live without dancing...

I don't read books... however I really enjoy watching documentaries and I like to read a lot of info about a subject that interests me online.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Living in different countries has thought me a lot about life and different cultures. I lived in Rio de Janeiro for 4 months. In Rio I did research for my Master thesis on the favelas in the city and going there was a very special experience, especially the Cidade de Deus favela (from the movie). The most beautifull things I have seen are; Machu Picchu, Cristo Redentor, the Sahara Desert and the Sphinx. My favorite cities up till now are; Amsterdam, Lisbon, Rome,Marrakech and LA. I hope to add other ones to that list!!
