I love to travel and have been all over the world. The point of traveling to me is to see other parts of the world as they are for those who call it home. Staying in a hotel is no way to experience the world. It's all about making friends and seeing the local side of things!

I think life is all about experiencing the world and human connections. I'm adventurous and love to go new places, see new things, and make new friends.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have CouchSurfed on 4 continents. There's nothing like living in a bamboo home on stilts, with chickens underneath you and the roosters crowing in your ears at 5 a.m. These are the kinds of experiences I live for. I keep in touch with people I've met all over the world.

I love just about all types of music. I love books about education, international development, sociology, culture, politics, historical fiction, poetry, Latin American literature.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was on the slopes of Arenal Volcano in Costa Rica when it erupted. That was intense and beautiful.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have lived in many different types of communities in the USA - from my home town of 3,000 people in Minnesota to Oakland, California - and have lived in Guatemala. I can share a broad knowledge of the people, places, culture and politics of the US. I also bring knowledge of many other places I've visited around the world, as I love to get into deep conversations with people I meet when traveling. I work in education and youth service, so I also have a lot of knowledge about service, youth development and education.
