Overview
About Me
Basically, I like food. If you like food, we'll be friends. I wouldn't say no to a few beers either!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am on couchsurfing to get the most genuine travel experience that I can. There's nothing like seeing a country through the eyes of a local! Locals tend to know all the quirks and hidden beauties of a place.
Interests
I have MANY interests: skiing, knitting, eating, writing, hiking, camping, yoga, playing music, Christmas, organic farming, and drawing...
Some of my simple comforts include wool socks and flannel shirts and long conversations with interesting people. I love making people laugh too... So I regularly make an ass of myself to get a good reaction.
I also love trees. I can spend hours in the woods staring at trees.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love classical music (used to play in an orchestra... I was a cool teenager). I love folk music from the 60s/70s, classic rock and lots of indie music. As well, I enjoy sitting at my own piano and playing for hours whatever comes to mind. Recently I have acquired a ukulele as well :) my proficiency is a work in progress.
I don't really watch any movies as I tend to fall asleep mid way through (Yeah, I'm a fun date)... I've watched the Incredibles about 25 times and I had a Star Wars marathon when I got my wisdom teeth pulled out.
I love to read... My favourite series are Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and the Millenium series (Girl with the Dragon Tattoo). I read a lot of classics too. I loved Crime and Punishment, Wuthering Heights and Lady Chatterley's Lover. I also loved Kerouac's On the Road. I am currently reading ALL the Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy books.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Two things: I have played music on the Great Wall of China and I have been kicked out of England.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to knit! Knitting is a good skill to have when you`re freezing your butt off in Canada (or Iceland)!
I love to learn, so any wonderful learning experience is welcome and hopefully we can share a good laugh while we're at it.
I am attempting (and so far not succeeding) at learning Icelandic. Any help and patience in this department would be greatly appreciated.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share an occasionally questionable sense of humour, my love of life and my incredibly obnoxious laughter (a little Australian boy once said I sound like a Kookaburra... YouTube it if you aren't familiar with this sound.)
