Hello! I'm Shannon. I recently quit my job to travel the world. I leave on May 31st and my first stop is Lisbon, Portugal. I'm excited to meet you!

Por que estou no Couchsurfing?

After my first 10-day backpacking trip through parts of Europe, I discovered a world of travel I never knew existed. Even better are the people I've met (people like you) who inspire me to grow and see the world. I want to meet you, hear your story and give back as much as I can for the hospitality you show me.

On May 31st, I leave for my trip across the world and my first stop is Portugal. I'll be looking for places to stay while I'm there!

Interesses

Local events, long walks to explore the city, volunteering, church-related events, tasting beers of all kinds, smokey spirits, cooking, healthy eating, outdoor adventures, swimming, (trying) to surf, writing, reading, trying (mostly) anything new at least once.

Músicas, Filmes e Livros

Music: Classic rock has my heart, but I listen to almost anything. Rap is fun. Country makes me feel nostalgic for home. EDM gets me lifted. Oldies make me wanna dance. Today's top 40 reminds me not to take myself too seriously.

Movies: Mostly anything - Dazed and Confused, Ocean's Eleven, Frozen, Pride & Prejudice etc. NOT horror films. I want to sleep on your couch, not lie awake at night in fear :)

Uma Coisa Incrível que Eu Fiz

I lost my drivers license in the JFK airport right before I boarded the plane to Paris for my first trip abroad. I thought it was a sign that the entire trip was going to be a fail. It was waiting for me in the lost and found when I returned. I'm amazing at doing things like that.

I'm flexible. I love going out just as much as I like staying in. I want to listen and get to know you. We also don't have to talk much. That's fine too. I'm low maintenance. I don't need to be entertained, but if you want to go out and have an adventure, then count me in. I'm immensely grateful to anyone sharing their home with me. It's your home, your rules. I'm happy to be staying with you.
