Overview
About Me
Hi! I’m Shanon - 1/2 of the “Hop on and hold on” duo (my husband Matthew is the other half). My husband and I recently sold all of our worldly belongings and are traveling the world looking for our next place to land. After navigating a layoff (mine), a military separation (his), and news of our first baby on the way (ours, due January 2024), we decided to leave the USA on a journey to find our next home. During our travels, we are consulting as travel planners, communications strategists, and life coaches helping people think outside the box as they navigate through life’s transitions. We are also doing our own market research into how people live in different parts of the world. We love to explore places off the beaten path, enjoy delicious food, and meet interesting people.
Our story can be found on www.hoponandholdon.com/blog
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My husband and I are traveling the world until December when we have to “slow down” for a few months to welcome our baby girl into the world. We want to learn how locals live in different places to help us choose the best place for us to start a family.

Teach, Learn, Share
I worked in consulting, market research, digital marketing, and strategic communications for a long time and have been a career coach and mentor as well. I am happy to teach any of those skills from public speaking to navigating difficult life transitions.
I would like to learn more about entrepreneurship, tiny living, and how to be a mom. We’re looking for prenatal classes, pole dance classes, and how to connect with the expat community.
