About Me

Took off from New Zealand after working a soul crushing sales job for four years.

Became an English teaching - completed my training in New York City and explored the rest of the east coast of the USA.

Travelling Europe working and looking for work, currently volunteering before moving back to the UK for my next job.

I hold both NZ and UK passports but, I consider myself to be a citizen of the world.

Would love to travel further afield to India, Asia and Africa but for now I am loving Europe!

Any questions just ask - I am an open person. I enjoy meeting new people, sharing a few drinks and having long deep conversations.

NB: I am not sure why my Facebook profile is only showing 10 friends I have been with them for years and I have over 300 friends (it could be my privacy settings).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

First, I love meeting people in their own homes as back packing and hotels can be very temporal and not conducive to making long term friendships.

Meeting people in their own homes can be more relaxing and authentic while traveling.

Interests

Travel because well...TRAVEL!!

Learning about new cultures with people and exploring new cities.

The English language, I find that the more I learn the more I feel I need to learn :)

People, I doubt I will ever understand the majority of them but I do my best to be friendly wherever I go!

Wine, because it is an ancient drink that has survived to modern times still using the original ancient techniques that were used to invent it.

Music, Movies, and Books

Too hard to answer :))

The document that has had the most influence on me is 'What is Enlightenment' by Immanuel Kant (I can see some people being cynical - invite me over and we'll chat)

Most of the TV/Movies I watch are purely for entertainment but, I hate chick flicks.

I love prime time animation such as, Family Guy, The Simpsons, Tripping the Rift, The Critic and Futurama. I am sure I have missed some but those are the main ones.

Wreck it Ralph is one of the funniest movies I have seen in ages.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Completed my TEFL training in New York, it was difficult but the experience got me ready for further travel and bought out strength that I didn't know I had.

Climbed the pyramids of Death Valley in Mexico City.

Went to Mexico despite a lot of advice against doing it and had an amazing experience there.

Climbed the spire of the Cologne Cathedral recently and I swear I am still sore because of it.

Traveled a long way around the world and met so many amazing people and am still going!

Teach, Learn, Share

People are generally good where ever you go.

You never know what you can achieve until you try to achieve something.

You are stronger than you think.

The world is a very friendly place.

Don't be put of by other people's negative experiences or bad reviews of something - go out and do things for yourself!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Every host is different so when I get to where I am going I will share what I can.

I love exploring, learning and teaching, I find that the more I learn the more I realise there is to learn.
