I am 37 years old and my passion is working with children. I love traveling, listening to music, learning languages, and meeting people from around the world. I am currently learning Korean and Spanish as I prepare for upcoming trips. I hope to raise my kids in a bilingual household in the future. Over the last two years I have developed an interest in retiring abroad before 50. I would like to meet other people who are pursuing early retirement or who have already retired abroad.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I attend meetups in different areas when I travel out of town. I love meeting new people and seeing their country through their eyes. I also host couchsurfers occasionally and I have stayed with 2 hosts in the past. It's great because I have someone to cook for.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted 3 people in my home and I traveled to Paris where I met up with a great group of couch surfers. I miss all of their personalities. :) I never imagined that one day I would eat lunch under the Eiffel Tower. I also stayed with a lovely couple in Chicago (Bob and Lin). I enjoyed seeing the city with them and eating with them. I was visiting to see my brother graduate from his Navy training and Bob was courteous enough to take me around town to meet with my brother. In Korea, I stayed with Steven Buckland in Busan. Steven is such a warm and welcoming person. I am so glad that I was able to meet him. He gave me advice on places to visit and joined me for part of my trip.

兴趣

Live music, dancing, singing, art, running, and trying new things, becoming fluent in Korean (currently planning a return trip to Korea). Mostly, like many of you, I love to travel. This year I am visiting the Bahamas, the Virgin Islands, and Spain.

Action movies are my favorite. Fast cars, strong women, lots of fights, lol.

Books... I love to embrace my inner nerd. I like pretty much everything excluding science fiction. I am currently challenging some of my close friends to read 50 books with me this year. Wish us luck!

I took my first solo trip to Korea after studying Korean for a year. I tried my best to use Korean as much as possible and quickly learned that I had a long was to go. As I traveled around Jejudo alone it finally hit me that I can do this. I hit as many attractions as I could on the last day to make sure that I would have the full experience. This trip made me want to take more international solo trips.

I would like to learn basic things swimming, latin dance, martial arts, cooking on an open fire, ... I want to live like a female nomad when I go on vacation.
