ABOUT ME

I've lived in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, London all in the past 10 years. I am now back in Sydney and in the process of resettling into my life here.

I completed my postgraduate in Criminology a few years back, and whilst I'm interested in the darkest elements of society I have no great passion to work in the field. Perhaps though in volunteering because I would like to try to prevent injustices in the world rather than actually solving them.

I'm not a party gal - I won't take you to the hottest nightspot in town. But I will take you to some of the best restaurants ;)

I'm neither greatly extroverted nor introverted. I can have just as much fun at a huge dinner party with strangers as I can putting my feet up and sipping a good coffee whilst at home watching the Discovery Travel Channel.

From these comments, can you guess I love good food?

I just returned from an overseas trip taking in Russia, Finland, Estonia, Latvia and Poland. It had been 5 years since going overseas and I've found the travel bug has returned in a big way.

PHILOSOPHY

Every day of work means its one step closer to the next holiday. Thats my mantra whilst I work in all the worst call centres and customer service places.
Life after all should not be all about work and no play.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm just getting my life back to normal, so I'm living with the parents right now. Until the work starts up and the money rolls in (so I can move back out) I won't be able to host anyone.
But if you are interested in a bit of a cultural day out seeing museums/films/art/theatre/music, want some company whilst sightseeing around the sights of Sydney or fancy a friendly chat one evening over some tasty food and drink, drop me a line.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None just yet. 2010 couch-surfing along the Mediterranean is on the cards though.

Interests

I'm a culturally-inclined kinda gal.
Food, wine, cinema, theatre, and music gives me the greatest pleasure.

I love Eurovision. It was the reason I ventured to Russia this year, and the reason that I will venture to Norway in 2010. For me it's not purely about the music or even the spectacle, but the variety of cultures that it represents. After having attended myself, I know its the most exciting, most entertaining event I'll witness in my life and for one week I got to meet so many nationalities and make so friends in one place.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies - Best filmNew German cinema, classic films such as Clockwork Orange, One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, Blue Velvet, If..., the recent works of Clint Eastwood, Anchorman, Swing Kids, Rocky Horror. My favourite films of the past year were Milk, and The Reader.

Books - I'm currently working my way through the works of Paul Theroux, Louis Theroux and Anthony Bourdain.
