Hello,

My name is Shaun, I currently live with my family in the town of Abingdon, near Oxford, where I grew up. Fun fact: it's where Radiohead is from.

I spent all of 2024 backpacking around Asia, and plan to carry on travelling in future. I downloaded Couchsurfing as a way to meet up with like-minded travellers.

If you have any questions about Oxford or would like to meet up, don't be afraid to drop me a message. If I am unavailable, my sister may be able to hang out. She is often working at a cafe in the city.

I am quite knowledgeable about cafes, restaurants, and pubs in and around Oxford. Besides that, I enjoy hiking, cycling, and playing chess.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm giving myself more avenues to meet fellow travellers and local people. As much as I can appreciate some alone time, I love to meet new people, and having good company can really make a big difference to your impression of a place.

Interests

I enjoy road cycling and have been to see the Tour de France many times. In my free time I like to play chess, and prior to travelling I enjoyed playing video games. When I was younger I used to compete in a game called Halo.

I grew up listening to Trip-hop bands such as Massive Attack and Portishead, my mum was a big fan. My teenage years I became obsessed with Drum & Bass, but recently I've been getting more into indie and listening to bands such as Men I Trust, Dijon, Glass Beams, etc.
