About Me
ABOUT ME
Sensible and pretty quiet. Interesting in meditation, reading, travel and stuff. I'm from a small village in the North of England. Although I've worked around Britain and have travelled overseas a bit, I'm still the same village kid really.
PHILOSOPHY
I'm a quiet and gentle socialist. I hate people making excessive profits and wish there was more altruism around.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Never couchsurfed! But I use to work away from home and have stayed in some weird places (usually the cheapest place I could find lol). I've stayed in a DSS hostel in Central London for £10 a night, a 5* hotel in Hamburg when I was running the marathon there, I lived in a tent in the Lee Valley, London for a whole summer.
Interests
I love to experience different cultures. I've befriended various overseas students from university - Thai, Gambian, Chinese, Cameroonian, Egyptian.

Music, Movies, and Books
Forrest Gump. Catcher in the Rye. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. The Heart if Deceitful Above All Things
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I left school with no qualifications but I've got educated to a good level now. I've given presentations on my PhD topic in Baltimore and Tuscaloosa, I teach vulnerable kids in care - but I drive wagons on the weekends as a sort of paid hobby.
I've run eight marathons in five different countries although it knackered up my knees.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've done a lot of proof reading and letter writing for overseas students at university. I'd always be happy to help anyone with this kind of thing.
I know quite a bit about the philosophy of education, educational sociology and sociolinguistics although that's probably a bit more niche
