Hello! My name is Shauna and I grew up in a small town in Maine (basically Canada) for most of my life. I love caffeine just as much as anyone. I enjoy a good intriguing conversation about anything, good examples are: how great cows are, how insanely small we are compared to the universe, or just anything about food (particularly burritos). If you are someone who likes rolling around in the grass, eating flowers, seein' bees, and/or seeing cats in suits, good news! We will get along just fine.

Below is a rather detailed timeline of the past few years of my life if need know.

I graduated highschool in 2016 and bypassed the standard college route and decided to travel. When I graduated I left that summer and committed to a ten month long volunteer service in the U.S. Within that time I developed my passions for travel writing and poetry. I served in six different states, work involving trail maintenance, disaster response, rebuilding homes, assisting children, etc. After that I flew to Georgia and backpacked through the East Coast on the Appalachian Trail for three months, gaining over 1,000 miles of backpacking experience. To continue the outdoor and volunteer lifestyle I traveled to Nepal and lived in a tent in Himalayan rice terraces and taught English to the local children and rebuilt schools destroyed from the 2015 earthquake. I lived in Montana soon after that, working on a trail crew in the beautiful Glacier National Park, and spent three seasons between that and the east coast looking after back country cabins and shelter sites. This is all recently leading up to what I do now in the Tongass National Forest in AK working for the forest service! I am someone who thrives almost purely off of new experiences. I crave learning and meeting unique people, and spending my time growing through travels. I am easy-going and excited to be a couch surfer!
