CURRENT MISSION

Our current mission is to float, explore, and learn. By experiencing new places and cultures, we will grow within ourselves and relationships with others. Traveling is our main goal and we are excited to do this together!

ABOUT ME

Joshua and I enjoy hiking, backpacking, swimming, and exploring the outdoors. We have recently picked up a new found love for SCUBA Diving and are hoping to include it in most of our travels. I love to cook and Josh loves to eat! What a pair! We live in Family Housing near the Southern Oregon University campus. We enjoy BBQ get togethers and good conversation. Learning and listening are appreciations we have. We laugh constantly- making funny faces or potty humor jokes. We find peace within the trees and mountains, where the sound of a rushing creek is music to our ears. We look forward to a new chapter in our life together- anything goes, all adventures welcome!

We both grew up in Oregon. Josh is currently a college student, but I have my degree in Biology. I have been a science and environmental educator for over 5 years. We hope to open a sustainable camp where kids can learn to appreciate the environment through hands on, adventurous outdoor activities! Dream BIG!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have hosted people and we have surfed. And love both equally! Our friends and family have been turned on to couchsurfing through our awesome times with fun-loving people from around the world. We look forward to hosting more in 2012.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have couch surfed in Paris and Florence which was wonderful! We also hosted some great people from Canada who insisted that we watch a roller derby scrimmage. I love sharing the excitement and beauty of our home with friends and fellow travelers. Couchsurfing allows you to meet cool people as well as gain an appreciation for the place we call home. We look forward to more experiences in the near future.

Interests

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The love we have for each other is pretty awesome. Joshua and I have been to some amazing places and met some unique individuals. One of the memorable things we have done while couch surfing was in Italy when we decided to try and find a mysterious natural hot spring waterfall that I had read about in the book, Under the Tuscan Sun. We stayed in a hostel in Florence that hosted us through CouchSurfing.org and met another couch surfer while we were there, Carlo. Joshua, Carlo and I rented a car and were off in search of this majestic place where people bathe in the soothing mineral water and slather their bodies in mud. We drove for hours asking locals in a hopeful attempt to find this mysterious waterfall (and understand Italian). As we were about to give up and go home, we saw the steaming river in the distance. We spent the day in pure bliss, soaking up the warmth in the heart of Tuscany.

Learn:
Joshua and I would LOVE to learn how to surf. I would love to teach others some of the different things I know in exchange for Surfing lessons.
