About Me
Hello!
I'm Shawn, half New Zealander half Canadian, I have been travelling Asia since December 2015. I am very energetic and positive, always up for an adventure and a laugh.
I quit my job to follow my passion for music, and have been writing songs on the road. I'll hopefully be releasing some songs in the next few months.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am taking my Japanese language study very seriously, I have studied for two years (a long time ago haha) and want to speak as much as I can here. What better way than by living with fluent speakers!
Interests
I am huge on music, I have my guitar with me and have been writing music as I have been travelling. If you are up for a sing-song I'm sure we can make that happen :) I sing, play guitar, piano, and drums.
I also love writing, I have a blog which I use to keep my family and friends updated about my trip.
My other interests include football, rugby, (I am from New Zealand after all) poker, tennis, table tennis, learning Japanese, and reading.

Also Hozier, Tupac, Ed Sheeran, Sam Cooke, Lorde, City & Colour, Leon Bridges, and Mumford and Sons.
Movies: Goodfellas, (500) Days of Summer, Birdman, In Bruges, LOTR.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I interviewed one of my favourite musicians Hozier! Was a true highlight of my career back home.
On the road I have snorkelled around a shipwreck in Bali, that was amazing with all the turtles and fish.
