À propos de moi

CURRENT MISSION

3 Months Europe Trip in 2015

ABOUT ME

I'm Shawn (a self-given name for people wh couldn't pronounce Jun Haw), and I am from Malaysia. Being a cultural hotpot, literally and figuratively, Malaysia cultivate a lot of polyglots. As for myself, I speak Mandarin, Cantonese, English, a little bit of Japanese as well as Korean and could understand some Hokkien and Hakka dialect but unable to reply in that language. I am an easy going person with a dream to keep on moving around to see the world, most probably just like everyone else here.

I am fascinated by languages, food and culture. I would love to take my time to enjoy the things as it comes, which might justify my backpacking tendencies. I like to walk a lot so I would be able to see the small things that most might miss, rushing through their respective itineraries. I like to go places, I embrace diversities, I love to communicate, something that I am passionate enough to major in.

I love to eat too, that's why I am always broke.

PHILOSOPHY

Go anywhere, do everything.

Centres d'intérêt

I love to eat, I love photography, I love weathers, I love the people, I love the world. I love to read, I love to communicate, I love music, I love to keep moving. I love to see the world.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Walked to Kuala Lumpur city center from Subang Jaya, a suburban city that I live in, The whole walking trip took me 5 hours in which I have to walk on highways occasionally but I had seen KL like I never seen before, on foot.

Did the same in Hong Kong while I was there in May 2012, attempted to walk to the airport from Tsim Sa Tsui. The police car stopped me and told me that I shouldn't be here on a highway. (Thank goodness, I could speak Cantonese) I told them I was lost and they sent me to the nearest train station, the entire walk took me two and a half hour, leaving so close to the airport.

Walked around Seoul entirely on foot, realised it isn't THAT big. Took me half a day to walk from the city center to Itaewon, stopping at various places. It was winter, so walking wasn't that smart afterall, but I found out that all I need was a map and random street food along the way to keep me going.

Next stop? Walking around the city of London. I don't suppose they would let me walk to Paris. =(
