ABOUT ME

Hi! My name is Shawn and I live in Oregon, United States. I recently left my job as a caregiver to travel the world and pursue my dreams of writing and photography before going back to school next year. I love meeting new people sharing my stories and hearing stories of others. I am excited to meet new friends in my travels and experience new cultures.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am yet to have my first couch surfing experience, but I hope to next time I travel!

Interests

Writing, Reading, Photography, Running, Traveling, Volleyball, Surfing and Swimming or just about any water sport, Different cultures and new adventures. I am also just beginning to learn film making to go along with photography and so far I love it.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all different kinds of music, in fact I can't think of any genre I've heard that doesn't have at least one song I like. Same goes with movies, though Slumdog Millionaire is my hands down favorite.
I read all sorts of different kinds of books. Recently non-fiction stories about travel and adventure have appealed to me the most. Don Miller is my favorite author. I highly recommend his book A Million Miles in a Thousand Years.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been blessed to go on many amazing adventures, it's hard to choose just one. Most recently I ran with the bulls at the San Fermin festival in Spain, and I hiked into several remote villages in the mountains of southern India to teach and work with villagers there.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I will share anything my hosts are looking for! I love meeting new friends and sharing stories and experiences with them. I will share any travel advice of the places I've visited, I will cook for them (I'm a decent cook but don't cook too often so the food I can cook is limited), or share any similar interests I may have with them such as photography and film making.
Lastly I would love to repay the favor and share my home with them should they ever want to come visit. At the moment I can not host guests because I am preparing to move out, but in 2015 I will be moving to Honolulu, Hawaii for school and will be happy to host visitors there!
