About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To boldly go where no man... blah blah blah! Just looking for a good time while learning about my fellow humans :)
ABOUT ME
I'm a reasonably sensible backpacker who got the opportunity to travel due to the Irish Governments lack of funds. Had hoped to earn enough money picking fruit in Australia to be able to pay my way for the rest of the trip but alas it wasn't to be! Had a good experience a few weeks back hitch-hiking to Fraser Island so I want to further my faith in humanity by experiencing more random acts of kindness from strangers...
PHILOSOPHY
Learning to live is the hardest thing. Too often I find myself just surviving, or going from one day to the next without learning anything or improving myself. Seeing as many different points of view as possible is my goal.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
For now I just want to meet new people, learn what they're about and give back what I can. On my eventual return to Ireland I hope to host some surfers myself.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Although I am new to couch surfing itself I was recently hitching with a friend and was picked up by a man with the most amazing life story I have ever heard. He put us up for a night, recalling stories starting with him running away to join the circus at 15 (yes, really!) to smuggling journalists into East Timor during its break for independence.
Interests
I enjoy reading, watching movies, sports and the occasional TV show. Really learning to appreciate a good beer rather than just downing it as quick as I can! Slowly realising there isn't enough time to do everything I want to do in this life.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love most SciFi or action movies, my music interests are wide and varied but mainly centred on Rock, Indie and Grunge. Since starting to travel I read any book I can lay my hands on. My all-time favourites are The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, and the Hannibal Lecter series but I'm currently reading anything by Clive Cussler.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Table Mountain, Cape Town. It is beautiful. Every time I saw it I wanted to take another picture. It's a mesmerizing, ever-changing natural beauty. I can't wait to return to Cape Town to photograph it again with a decent camera!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a qualified computer technician so if there are sparks coming out of the back of your PC as you read this then don't worry, I'll bring my toolkit! I can also make a mean Spaghetti Bolognese, ok so I just buy the sauce and add onions but hey, I like it!
