ABOUT ME

Born and bred in Singapore, but my heart's been in many places. I've been mesmerized by the lights of NYC, humbled by the simplicity of life in Arequipa, seduced by the art in Rome and constantly amazed by the wonders that the world has to offer.

My husband and I are currently on a 6 month trip around the world. We seek to understand global perspectives through the eyes of the people we meet along this journey, and our hearts have been full with all the encounters we’ve had thus far (:

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hosted several people when I lived in Florence and New York and I make an effort to meet up with couchsurfers in every new city that I visit. Right now it's not very convenient for me to host people as I'm staying with my parents, but I hope to show people all the amazing sights (and tastes!) Singapore has to offer (:

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My couch surfing journey started in 2008 in Vienna and Salzburg. My hosts, Alex and Sabine, truly exemplified the spirit of couchsurfing. We were given a tour around the city center of Vienna and their great hospitality and kindness made it hard for us to leave the city. They even baked a cake for me on my birthday!

Since then, I've met so many amazing people through CS. There's Axel & Mariana, who spent 2 years cycling from Canada back to Argentina, and Carlos, the man who sings like an angel and gives the best massages in the world. Every CS experience has been a meaningful and enriching one, and it always makes whichever city I'm in feel a little bit more like home.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Completed the Inka Trail. Saw the Milky Way on the Bolivian Salt Flats. Did a winter expedition in Korea. Skydived in New York. Watched the sun set and the moon rise simultaneously on Lake Titicaca. Taught English in Arequipa. Traipsed on rocky volcanic ground in Guatemala.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can teach you Singlish (Singapore English!), share about Singapore culture, and talk all day about education and travel hacks!
