I work for a non-profit that teaches at-risk how to successful find jobs and begin their career paths. I am passionate about volunteerism and take every opportunity I can to work with orphans and at-risk demographics. I am an Iranian (Persian) and Indonesian mix slash first generation American. I love being a mix and that I got to grow up with two incredibly different, rich cultures. It's probably a big reason why I love to travel - and why I have this deep curiosity and desire to truly experience new cultures. I am passionate about helping people, and have a special place in my heart for orphans and human-trafficking victims. Most of my travels have been mission trips or outreach trips through organizations I actively volunteer with.

I do my best to travel and explore at least one new place each year! Currently planning a trip to Turkey & Greece next year. I am hoping to meet fun and interesting people during my travels. I really like that couchsurfing provides me the opportunity to meet and stay with locals, and to get a more authentic feel for the culture of the country that I'm visiting.

I'm kind of all over the place with my music, movies, and books. I listen to a little bit of everything - rock, country, alternative, turkish, persian and spanish music. My favorite bands are The Script, Britney Spears, Lee Brice, Linkin Park, Sum 41, Goksel, and The Civil Wars.

I love to laugh - so I enjoy comedies. I love watching action movies at the theater - I enjoy them best with that surround sound :) My favorite movies are Aladdin, Lord of the Rings Series, and The Mask of Zorro. I also like The Office, Gilmore Girls, and Turkish/Iranian serials.

I really enjoy reading - the classics (especially Brit Lit), and books about travel.

I adopted my boxer Bruiser - he is THE biggest spaz with an obnoxious amount of energy, but he is also the best hiking buddy and road trip co-pilot.
