About Me
Currently travelling and working around Australia, but leaving on April 27 (my birthday!) to set off on a backpacking journey in SE Asia:
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Have couchsurfed in the past - all around Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, and met some amazing people, and had some amazing experiences. Once I get settled, I hope to open up my couch to people as well and give back what was given to me

Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite quote:
"The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun. If you want to get more out of life, you must lose your inclination for monotonous security and adopt a helter-skelter style of life that will at first appear to you to be crazy. But once you become accustomed to such a life you will see its full meaning and its incredible beauty.”
- Jon Krakauer, Into the Wild
Favorite books:
The Historian - Elizabeth Kostova
The Outsiders - S.E Hinton
Into the Wild - Jon Krakauer
Wild - Cheryl Strayed
Lost Girls - Jennifer Baggett
(There are a ton more, I just can't think right now. I cannot choose favorites, especially since I go through a book every few days!)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The list is too extensive, and I can't just pick one! But I can list a few things that really were amazing to me:
Building houses for the homeless in Guatemala, Roasting a marshmallow over lava on a volcano, Hiking the Tongariro Crossing in New Zealand, Snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef, Parasailing in Saint Maarten, Touring the Highlands of Scotland, Sailing through the fjords in Norway, Visiting the concentration camps in Germany, Camping in the Australian Outback, Open air camping in a palm-tree forest in Crete
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am really into learning about other cultures and love to learn about local cooking, phrases from local (and indigenous) languages, etc. The main thing I love about couchsurfing is that you can do all these things, and learn about other cultures after a long day of sightseeing. I love to exchange ideas and can share stories with any potential hosts. I can also help with English and teach potential hosts about Canada and Canadian traditions/practices.
