About Me
(Updated May 2025)
Travel is everything. Going to new places and meeting new people is my passion. I use my experiences to come up with stories, specifically fairy tales. I'm working on a. collection, but that is not why I travel.
While not traveling, I spend a lot of my time with family and friends or hanging out at home with my cats: Kokopelli, Wiskedjak, Baba Yaga, and Hekate.
The reason I am retired at such a young age is not a fortunate one. I have multiple sclerosis which zaps my energy levels and sometimes my cognitive processes. I can still walk, I can still carry on lively conversations, but I have to do so with my abilities in mind.
If you come to stay with us or if you meet us when we are traveling, you will meet my other half, my delightful husband Jake. He is a brilliant man and I adore him!
We do not have children. This is not because we do not like kids; we try our best to spoil our niece and nephews. Because of this circumstance we do get to travel a lot and we are able to host folks without the disturbance of noisy children...although the pitter patter of paws will be present.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My absolute favorite thing to do in life is to meet and talk to strangers. I love offering travelers the opportunity to stay with me and to add enrichment to their travels. Meeting folks from here while abroad always adds so much depth to a visit.

Music, Movies, and Books
This category is constantly changing and being added to. I am updating in May of 2025 and I realize the things I had put here with my last update in 2023 are already lacking. I would love to discuss this in person as we will have plenty of updated films, books, and music to discuss. I suppose I am drawn to classics in all categories. Lord of the Rings needs mentioning though.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have seen the solar eclipse twice. My family and I traveled to the line of totality and to a location with as little light pollution as possible. Each time I ran into fellow sky gazers who had done the same thing. I love little moments that are full of magic.
Teach, Learn, Share
Louisville has a lot of interesting cultural and entertaining activities. We will happily tag along as you explore, I'll let you go out and about all on your own. Whatever works for our schedule or your visit demands.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I come from a long line of storytellers and will happily recount stories of growing up in the foothills of Appalachia. If you have a pie pan, I would be honored to make one of my grandma's recipes for you. My husband is the better chef if you would like us to fix you dinner.
