We participate by opening our home and kitchen to travellers and enjoy the same in return.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Our daughter planted the couch surfing seed a few years ago.Since then we have been blessed with wonderful weather and a long growing season.We have hosted a bountiful array of young and old from all over the world. Not one weed in the bunch! We have been enriched and entertained by a classical guitarist with the aura of buddha, a alligator wrestler,a long haul pedal biker from an american pumpkin patch,a french fishmonger-er,2 gold strike town performers,and so many more.I have also had the pleasure of being hosted in Louisiana and Chicago.

Interests

Jared and I are both interested in our ranch and keeping it as healthy a wealthy as possible. A very time consuming thing.Luckily this involves alot of other things we like. Like being outdoors and the opportunity to experience nature in all her guises.Wild weather, wild animals, wilderness,wild flowers,the occasional wild cow!
Jared enjoys local history and hunting, and has considered declaring open season on the occasional tourist! I find myself interested in too many things which tends to dilute my knowledge in most of them! But I do love music, and we both read alot.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music and books are a big part of our life. I am presently learning to play the guitar(slowly grrr..)
I listen to alot of country music, but am also won over by musicals.
Jared devours historical and local books,while I get around a bit and will read anything that peaks my interest,which sadly,is alot of things.Sad because there is never enough time to read.
A couple of my favorite authors are: William Horwood,Robert Ludlum, Robert Jordan, Ken Follett, Jodi Picoult, Brian Jacques, Charles Dickens, and Dr. Seuss

Teach, Learn, Share

A person never knows what pearls of knowledge resides in them ,till it is drawn out by someone curious enough to dive for it. It never ceases to amaze me what we learn in the short time that surfers stay here.Our visitors seem to be endlessly enthralled by Jareds' stories of hunting wolves and bears,and his knowledge of old cowboy ways.
